Plain language, because that's how it should be.

What we store

Your name, email, and password (encrypted with one-way hashing); the groups, expenses, receipts, and payments you record; and receipt photos you upload. Location data and photo metadata (EXIF) are stripped from receipt images when they're processed.

What we do with it

Only run the app. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share your information with anyone except the services needed to run LimeSplit (our hosting provider, and — only if you use receipt scanning — the AI provider that reads the receipt image). Receipt photos are stored privately and are only visible to people in the group they belong to.

Emails

We send account emails (verification, password reset) and, if you allow it, notifications. You can turn notification emails off in Settings.

Your rights

Download everything about you from Settings → Download my data. Delete your account from Settings — your login is removed immediately; the amounts in shared group history remain (with your name removed) so other people's balances stay correct.
